To celebrate the passing of the point at which Dylan had spent more time at home than in hospital, we went to hospital. Yay.
| Dylan has been learning bad manners from his father |
Somewhat inevitably, none of these signs were obvious by the time the doctor checked him at 2am. Strangely, I think only one medical person has heard his cough and she was absolutely horrified by it. We were kept in overnight and left in the morning. He has been diagnosed with a viral upper respiratory infection but nothing has been given for it (or could be) and it's simply a case of monitoring him and making sure he doesn't do it again!
He is now better than he was. He's coughing less frequently still wheezy and squeaky when he gets more excitable but much happier than on Monday. He's also still increasing in weight (always a worry when fighting infections).
Personally I think he just wanted me to forget about Tuesday's game: how did Scotland beat Australia? In Australia. Here's hoping Wales can do the same at the weekend.
** the doctor in the hospital gave us a special talk on the medical definition of a wheeze (expiratory (musical) noise from his lungs rather than his airways) as he could only hear a noise on inhalation. The Mother was silently fuming as she knows perfectly well what a wheeze is and yes, Dylan does make a polyphonic expiratory noise. He also squeaks on breathing in too. Next time she's going to use her maiden name...
