"Want to help Daddy make badger juice"
The moral of that statement is always be careful what you tell your child when he spots you taking something out of the fridge (butter) and you don't want to say it's for his cake. It will get parroted back to you. And to Mummy. In fact when I pick him up from school I'll probably get questioned about it from the teachers... Monday - 23Feb15
Wow. Not quite sure how happened but we very nearly have a 3 year old.
I'm not really sure that anything particularly exciting has happened. No real coughs or colds, no visits to the hospital (not even planned ones!) .... oh wait a second... no I think he had an eye test sometime in January as part of a check on his development and it's all fine and now nothing happens until eye tests are done as part of the usual checks for all children in a few years time. But basically it's all been going reasonably well here.
He's working on the next bicycle (pedals and stabilisers) which he can just about pedal but not steer at the same time and his hands are a little too idge to use the front brake, but he's reasonably quick on the balance bike although he still insists on riding down stairs and pushing down slopes. He can also use the phrase "pigs ear of that" correctly in a sentence. As is when failing to pedal the bike "Daddy I made a pigs ear of that. I think I need more petrol because the iPod has stopped working..."*
We've been trying to do more things this year so we've been exploring the area for places to go and these have been reasonably popular with the boy. As has the cooking experiments. Although trying to explain to him that no he wasn't allowed to cook his pancake got a little tricky.
So I wouldn't say all is well - we have an (almost) three year old who is stubborn, has an opinion and is not afraid to use it. And if it doesn't go his way he will throw a wobbly. So right now we're pretty much like every other household with a three year-old in it!
And we are evil parents because he has a paediatrics appointment on his birthday... and the dummy fairy is visiting....Not quite sure how well that last bit is going to go...
Anyway some photos of the boy and things we've been up to can be found here
*No, whatever he may think, he doesn't own an ipod and no the bicycle is pedal powered and not petrol and no ipod has been near any bicycle
