Dylan is 3

Perhaps more in spite of his parents than because...

Yesterday two fairies visited; one - the dummy fairy was expected, the second was the f***-up fairy and caused us a severe level of stress and angst.  Dylan's medicine strength was recently changed.  His captopril dose is 7mg.  Normally this is provided in a solution of 1mg/ml. So 7ml.  The new stuff is rated at 25mg/5ml and he should get 1.4ml.  We knew this and it was fine.  Unfortunately we hadn't told school and only remembered an hour after they had given it.  Some choice words were uttered and probably most of a cafe in Taunton now knows that there's a little boy who got 5 times the dose of his medicine yesterday lunchtime because his parents are muppets.  Thankfully the dose he was given was under the toxicity levels so we took him out of school and made him drink vast amounts and took his blood pressure every half an hour.  Which he tolerated surprisingly well.  In fairness he didn't particularly act like a boy who'd potentially had a severe change in his blood pressure and was a cheery chappie all afternoon.  Phew.

The imminant arrival of the dummy fairy didn't go quietly and prompted much screaming at bedtime before he went to sleep.  On the plus side she was nice and left a present in exchange for the dummies.

The Mother loses out again as small boy annexes the spoon with all the chocolate frosting on it
He also had his paediatrics check-up today and all is good.  Hurrah.  So we sent him back to school with cake.
